School trip to The Hill End Centre
Hill End Outdoor Education Centre has been welcoming children and adults to the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside since the 1920s to experience quality outdoor education and residential visits.
They offer a wide range of activities for all age groups and are particularly popular with Primary Schools.
Explore nature, learn bushcraft and team-building skills or visit the past in one of their tutor-led sessions that provide the ideal blend of adventure, fun and learning. They welcome both day visits and group residential stays in their simple but comfortable accommodation, all just 4 miles from the ‘dreaming spires’ of Oxford.
Hill End has been providing quality outdoor experiences for children of all ages for decades and they strongly believe in the positive outcomes for students – for their learning, confidence and life skills. The flexibility of the spaces and amenities they have in their stunning 65-acre site mean the site can be utilised for day visits or for residential stays, with the ability to accommodate groups of up to 170 in dormitories or camping.
|Their tutor-led one day sessions take children on adventures through time through ancient history to WW1 and WW2 experiences. Or choose nature explorers, forest school, bushcraft and survival skills, team-building or a bespoke session to suit your group, all in beautiful natural surroundings.
Take your school group
Some school groups choose to reserve space on site and the equipment necessary to undertake their own activities. From pond dipping to orienteering, they can provide you with all the resources you will need to run activities spanning a wide range of curriculum topics. Or combine a residential, tutor-led activities and your own to create an outdoor experience unique to your school.
They are only 4 miles from Oxford and so also provide an excellent base to enjoy local attractions such as the University of Oxford, Ashmolean and Natural History Museums, Blenheim Palace and Cotswold Wildlife Park.
Whether it’s for a day or a week, a visit to Hill End provides the ideal blend of adventure, fun and learning for children, giving them a real introduction to the countryside and setting them on the road to a lifetime of interest in the natural world.
