School Educational Trips
Sea Life Manchester offers you an astonishing aquarium experience where pupils will get up close to fascinating creatures. They work closely with schools to develop information that engages and inspires young people and is also relevant to the educational curriculum.
Self-Guided Tours and Workshops catering for early years, KS1 and KS2 are available. They also give daily creature presentations and offer optional behind the scenes tours.
They combine active, hands-on learning with fascinating educational talks and an opportunity to have an up close and personal view into their amazing aquatic world for your ultimate school trip.
Early Years will learn about
This workshop gives children a chance to recap on the names of some of the creatures they have seen during their trip to Sea Life and create a picture of their own aquarium.
- Identify and describe a variety of ocean creatures.
- Understand animals’ needs in their habitat and in aquariums.
- Have fun at the SEA LIFE aquarium and be surprised by the variety of marine life.
Key Stage 1 will learn about
Invite students to become Habitat Explorers as they dive deep underwater into the ocean habitats of some of their Sea Life creatures. Together they will jump into a world of amazing discovery to learn about the different zones of the ocean and the creatures that live there.
Thinking about habitats and adaptation, students will consider the challenges of different micro-habitats in the ocean, matching creatures and their adaptations to the different zones that they discover, and eventually creating their own sea creatures.
- Broaden knowledge of the marine environment and associated species.
- Identify and describe a variety of ocean zones and understand that different creatures live in these zones.
- Identify the challenges of different habitats in the ocean and how animals need to adapt to overcome them.
- Identify advantages and disadvantages of certain characteristics belonging to creatures under the sea.
- Appreciate the value of the marine environment and develop respect and empathy for its inhabitants.
- Promote a positive view of science and scientists.
- Have fun at the SEA LIFE aquarium and be surprised by the variety of marine life.

Key Stage 2 will learn about
Invite students to become Sea Defenders, they will investigate why it is important to protect our oceans, raising awareness of their own relationships with the ocean and how their daily actions can positively or negatively affect the marine environment.
Students should be inspired to make changes in their lifestyle and actively contribute towards solutions.
